Jammu and Kashmir government formed the Services Selection Board under Section 124 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir. The board formed the rules under SRO 375 of 2010 (21st October 2010). IAS Officers/ KAS Officers occupy the positions of Chairman, Members, and Secretary of the Board. These people on the board are responsible for the recruitment/ selection of Non-Gazetted posts.
These posts are divided into four Cadres, namely District Cadre, Government Cadre, Divisional Cadre, and State Cadre. Now, these cadres have separate meanings. District Cadre includes all posts (executive, technical, ministerial, and manipulative). On the other hand, State Cadre means all gazetted and non-gazetted posts in the State government. In addition to these, the Divisional Cadre handles the departments in the Division.
