The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai conducts the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET). The Cell conducts this test for admission of students to First Year Engineering/ Technology programs. In addition to these, Pharmacy courses are available to the students in the state of Maharashtra.

This is a Computer Based Test (online), which takes place in various centers throughout the state. Previously, DTE Maharashtra conducted the MHT CTET exam. In this, 50% weightage is given to Class 12% and the other 50% to the exam score. As a matter of fact 2018 onwards, it became mandatory for the students of the state to appear for this examination.

Eligibility for MHT CET 2nd Seat Allotment 2021

Students, although the first round of MHT CET CAP Seat Allotment has started already and the second round is awaited, there may be a chance that you don’t know the exact eligibility. Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra has set eligibility criteria for students to apply accordingly. You can read the eligibility criteria in the points below.

• The candidates should have completed SSC and HSC/ Diploma in Engineering/ B.Sc. from Maharashtra. Also, the candidate should produce the Domicile of Maharashtra (Type A).
• The mother or father of the candidate must have a domicile of Maharashtra (Type B).
• Candidate’s parents (either of them) should be an employee with the Government of India and is posted in Maharashtra before the application date ends (Type C).
• Either of his parents is a serving or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or GoMU (Type D).
• Any candidate who has completed SSC and HSC from a recognized board in Maharashtra-Karnataka disputed border with Marathi mother tongue (Type E).

In addition to the ones mentioned above, candidates from J&K and Ladakh, minority communities of Maharashtra, and NRI backgrounds have certain other criteria.
