Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Mann Ki Baat program on All India Radio, DD News, and DD National to address the nation. The first show took place on 3rd October 2014 and since then, the PM has kept on organizing the talk and address people. Through the show, the Prime Minister provides ideas towards public issues to the people. One major reason for the show being available on the radio is because not every corner of the country has television connections. The deprived areas are rural, isolated, and less developed areas. Almost 10% of the population doesn’t have access. But, with the help of the Doordarshan’s Direct to Home (DTH) service, the episodes are available on radio and television channels. For the show, the PM asks youngsters and the public to give ideas regarding the episode.

Since the PM address people on public issues on Mann Ki Baat, he asks the public to provide him ideas. As per the reports, Mann Ki Baat authorities have received around 61,000 ideas on the website narendramodi.in/mann-ki-baat and 1.43 lakh ideas through audio recordings. Also, such a large number of issues tell us that there is a lot to work upon. This can only be done with the help of the public coming together with the government on important issues, the minor ones that we usually overlook. Thus, we can say that Mann Ki Baat really has helped the government in knowing what all bother the rural people and how it can be changed.
When the radio program was launched in India, the public received it with appreciation. Especially, the urban localities appreciated it much. As per a report in 2014, around 66.7% of people in the major six cities tuned in to the show. Also, the most remembered topics that the PM has discussed so far are Drug-Free India, Khadi promotion, and Team Tarini.

This message can be in English or in Hindi. Some of these messages may also come in the broadcast. There is one more method by which one can send his ideas. For that, he has to give a missed call in 1922. Then, the person will receive a link using which he can give the suggestions directly to the Prime Minister.
